Easy DIY Knife Storage Using Plexiglass sheet

Plexiglass sheets or acrylic glass,is a transparent thermoplastic often used in sheet form as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass. The same material can be used as a casting resin or in inks and coatings, among many other uses. The substance, like many thermoplastics, is often technically classified as a type of glass, hence it is commonly referred to as acrylic glass.

Here's An Easy DIY Knife Storage Using Plexiglass sheet:

Requirements:

Step 1 - Take your wooden board 1.5-2 inches thick. This board is going to act as the base on which the plexiglass sheets will be screwed onto. Make sure your wooden board is clean and polished so as to not contaminate the knives that will constantly come in contact with it.

Step 2 - Take your plexiglass sheets and measure it out to match the same dimensions of the wooden board lengthwise and breadthwise.

Step 3 - Using a hand saw, saw out the plexiglass sheets carefully so as to not damage or score your plexiglass sheets ruggedly. After sawing your plexiglass sheets use sandpaper and gently rub the edges to smooth out your plexiglass sheet.

Step 4 - Line your plexiglass sheet with your wooden board and mark 4 corners on the plexiglass and board, make sure they are in the same line. Drill holes in the corner of your plexiglass and your wooden board, use a drill bit that is of equal thickness as the screws you will be using.

Step 5 - Screw in your plexiglass sheet to your wooden board, use 2-3 washers to create a gap that is just wide enough to slide the blade of your kitchen knives in between your plexiglass sheet and wooden board. Once complete, fasten the plexiglass sheet to the wooden board using nuts from behind the wooden board. You can choose to hang up your knife holder or prop it up using a piece of wood glued to the back of the wooden board.
